The Home Business idea has been around for many years now, perhaps beginning with an entrepreneurial child having lemonade stands on the weekend at the front of the neighbour’s house. Obviously the neighbours house because Dad was too embarrassed to have the stall in front of his own house, and perhaps still today this embarrassment has found its way into the lives of families who we’ve all experienced, rejecting the thought of having or being shown a presentation of a business idea.

Now a Home Business idea is firstly about making some extra income to provide finance for those dreams that we can never seem to afford. A better education for our children, that well deserved holiday, or perhaps even those unheard of riches that we believe we could never have, so we never do.

It all starts with a dream or a desire, and if a business operating from home could be something you could put a few hours a day toward, then there is every chance that over time and some added knowledge and education, you could find yourself and your family in an entirely different financial situation.

Working from home with an Internet or MLM Business is a great goal, and many companies operating today, that are household names, started with that same dream and found success - so is it worth it?

A common saying that many use in Leadership circles is ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail’, and this is true with any business venture. The first thing we must accept and realise is, that we are starting a Business, not developing a Get Rich Quick Scheme. Any business will take time to develop and must be approached with knowledge and ingenuity, balanced with an ability to take RISKS without the FEAR of FAILURE.

For starters, building your current bank balance is a good idea, so that you have enough to invest toward your business to get it up and running, and at least 3 months extra finance in the bank to cover your current living expenses, in case things begin to get tight, as they did in the beginning for me.

Now as this is the Internet we are talking about you will need a website, which is a registered home page specifically designed to display whatever product or service it is that you have to offer. The website will be the crux of your Internet Business, and you can either build one yourself with one of the many self help services to be found online, or you can pay someone to develop a unique and attractive site - the attraction factor is not that it is pleasing to the human eye, but that it has a uniqueness and quality that the Internet Search Engines find attractive.

Professionalism is a good goal and guideline in developing your site, because if and when you are discovered online, it is then that your site and unique products or service is open to the scrutiny of the human eye. If it is a site that offers retail sales, then a secure shopping cart or similar system like Click Bank or PayPal will be useful.

Getting people to your site will be the next consideration, and this is called, yes you guessed it; marketing or advertising. Build it and they will come only applied to a fictional movie about a baseball field, but build it is a must, and advertising is the key marketing method of letting the world know you are in Business and ready to help them. There are many methods of advertising or marketing your business idea on the Internet, from Pay per Click advertising to FFA sites or Email adverts, or simply writing articles or blogs, these are all effective in there own way, and with different levels of results and success.

Once you are up and running pull out all stops and announce your business to the world. Go offline and use classified ads in local newspapers, or maybe they’re willing to give you a free plug as a new business in the local area. Run off a few thousand pamphlets and do a drop to your neighbourhood letterboxes and, you could even use the kids to run this for you.

Whatever field it is that you choose to run with, be confident about what it is that you have to offer, and use creativity, insight and business knowledge. If you lack these things then a few hours on the Internet can find almost anything you would need to fill the gap, for knowledge is cheap these days, but those who have the creativity and insight to use it, build a great business and of course make the money.

So what are you waiting for? Some of the money out there is yours and it has your name on it -My new business.com… - you know the rest.

The most unfortunate and damaging misconceptions about work at home business is the extra income can come very quickly.

I urge You to acquaint yourself with these three myths, and protect yourself from the Internet hype and misconceptions.

Online MLMs Can Generate A High Profitable Income In One Month

Take a look at this:

The average internet MLM pays £1 to £5 per person in an organization. To earn £1,000 - £5,000 per month, you need 1000 people in your organization.

This is possible to achieve. But it takes time.

“You Have A Ground Floor Opportunity - You Must Join Today”

When someone says: “Ground Floor Opportunity - Join Today” you have to ask yourself what are they really saying?

Are they saying “People who join after me have less chance of making money than myself or “The organisation will be useless in two to three years time.

It would be heart breaking to take a year or two to build a good residual income, only to have that income disappear over night?

And what would happen to the poor suckers who join in six or seven months time?

To be honest a good business opportunity should actually improve with time and exposure. It should be based on products (or services) - and delivering more in the product value than the pound amount people are paying for it.

Yes it IS possible to find such companies on the internet. I know a few of them.

Make A lot Of Sales and You Make loads Of Cash

MLM works best when a large number of people each help each other to make a small numbers of sales.

Let me give an example of what I mean:

In an offline business we were in, someone joins the organisation who is an awesome direct mail marketer. Soon he put together a masterly direct mail campaign to promote this opportunity. He invested a lot of money then unleashed his packages. In six weeks he had several hundred people in his downline, and was earning several thousand pounds per month.

But within three years he had dropped out of that company.

Why is this you may ask?

You see almost none of the people he brought in were able to duplicate what he was able to do. So he was unable to help them grow their businesses (and possibly had no time to help 500 newbies). And since the monthly purchase requirement was £70.00 in this particular company they soon started dropping out.

The point you really ought to understand is this:

“REMEMBER In MLM, you DO NOT make much money from making sales - You Make A Lot Of Money From Building An Organization!”

This brings us nicely to the next and final misconception:

It’s Best To Build From The Top Downwards

Many people feel that you “come in at the top”, then bring people in “under you”. They reflect this in their attitude to the job.

Be Smart and know better.

It’s IMPORTANT You Build From The Bottom

In the beginning, there is no one in your business. You just have a dream, and help from your company and up-line.

You find three people and place them in your foundation. Then you physically support them from below. Yes, they are a bit heavy at first, but you what is required - you continue to support them.

One morning you wake up and there are nine people in your structure. From the three you started with.

You’re supporting the nine people structure now, and because you do, your organisation continues to grow. Eventually, when you look up, you find that you have a solid building, based on “below support”.

Can you see this?

The bottom people you recruit and assist to take their first steps as marketers of your opportunity. When they help other people, your organization expands.

The point is that the engine that drives lasting MLM growth is people helping other people, in small numbers, and everybody making sure they do their share.

At the beginning your job is to sponsor a small number of people and support them, and encourage them to make sales… encourage them to encourage other people in the same way.

Once you build a small group of people and the helping culture takes hold, you will start to develop a rapidly growing organization… that grows rapidly and wildly with a momentum that’s impossible to stop, even if you tried to.

You will have an Internet home based business to be proud of.

Wealthy Affiliate

A lot has been written about the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and its new guidelines governing endorsements and testimonials. These guidelines affect how we must conduct our sales and marketing. We all need to understand how we will do business going forward for our affiliate marketing as well as our business internet money online opportunity.

I will summarize three aspects below. However, like anything that is written by the government, the devil is in the details. I will provide a very high level view and you must dig deeper into each aspect to get the details and learn how you will deal with them.

1. Advertisers, such as you and I as affiliate and article marketers, who promote a product or service must clearly disclose our results so other potential consumers can understand what they can expect. This clearly means that affiliate marketers and sales people must provide their potential consumers proof that using their product or doing their program will provide specific identifiable results. Making statements such as you will make $150,000 the first month you start this program will require proof that the people paying for and doing the program can expect these results. I think that we will see a huge reduction in a lot of websites that make false and wildly untrue claims. This is fantastic and will help you and I reduce our markeplace of charletans and crooks. The 1980 guideline provided an “out” for the truly dishonest by simply providing a disclaimer to testimonials that the “results (are) not typical”. The new guidelines have removed this “out” and will not protect the disceptive or give them safe harbor.

2. The new guidelines qualify “material connections” such as payments or free products must be disclosed. This applies to anyone who gets a service or product for free and then promotes that product. They will be required to be forthright and identify this fact. This is of particular concern for the rich and famous who are paid great sums of money to endorse a product. I could give hundreds of examples about how abused this marketing technique has been. You and I need to be aware that if we are paid or receive a product or service for free, this information must be disclosed. This applies to bloggers, affiliate marketers and anyone selling or promoting someone else’s product or service online.

3. The endorsements by celebrities is identified in the new guidelines. Although you and I likely do not have to worry about this for our affiliate and article marketing, celebrity endorsers will be held accountable for statements they make in their endorsements. Both advertisers and endorsers can be held liable for false or unsubstantiated claims and failing to apply items 1 and 2 above.

Make sure you learn about the FTC guidelines and if you have any questions get the official document from the Government, FTC 16 CFR Part 255, Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, effective December 1st, 2009.

Top management executives at corporate giants like Sun Microsystems, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, General Motors and Hewlett-Packard have ventured into the blogging arena. What is prompting these busy executives to take time out form their hectic schedules to join in the conversations in the blogosphere? Simple, it is the desire to promote a new atmosphere of openness with employees, shareholders, customers, prospects and the general public in the process not only increasing business but, more so, giving a human voice to the company.

Bosses – Why Blog?

“What began as an experiment has become an important means of communication for GM. It has given me, personally, an opportunity to get much closer with you, the public.” These are the words of General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz. The blogosphere, the press, and most of GM’s constituents are tuned into his blog which gets more than 5,000 visits and 13,000 page views a day.

In its simplest terms, a blog can be an online and very public journal. It is an effective medium used by top management to communicate directly to its market segment, business associates, stockholders and employees. Blogs serve as channels for management to explain to these people that the directions and actions and views that management is taking are in the best interests of all parties concerned. Through a blog, the CEO or any high level executive has the opportunity to converse with his target audience on a regular basis. The executive is in a unique position to set the agenda, steer the discussion and shape the views and opinions. In a way, top management executives would seem to be the logical persons to blog in behalf of the company. Nobody can represent a company and a product or service brand better than top executives especially the CEO. They are in a good position to comment on certain issues.

Blogging provides management with a fast and cost-effective means of conducting two-way communications with the company’s audience. Management and customers, industry peers or the public all have the opportunity to respond either in the comment box or their very own blogs. Management wants to find out how the public views the company so it can improve its products or services. Listening and engaging the blogging community can turn out to be a highly effective way of discovering what your targeted audience thinks about your company. Top management can use feedbacks, good and bad, to their advantage. These feedbacks are used to improve products or services and systems. The immediate and open communication achieved thru blogging can enable a company to gain a high position in its industry. Corporate executive blogs also provide a fast and direct method of managing research on customer experiences, company perception, commentaries on policies and agenda.

Unfavorable comments are not filtered out. Management evaluates these inputs and responds accordingly. GM vice chairman Bob Lutz emphasized it is extremely important to run the bad with the good comments or else credibility will suffer. In the blogosphere, credibility counts the most. Once it is gone, the blog is useless. Filtering out the unsavory remarks takes away the essence of a real conversation. It completely eliminates the likelihood of any wrong perception about your product or service being corrected.

As a whole, top management executives use blogs to help generate sales thereby increasing business. Blogs help them develop a human voice that customers, prospects, shareholders, industry peers, employees and the general public can relate. Giving a human voice to the company is significant as people basically do business out of relationships as they do out of prices and benefits. Blogging promotes a two-way communication about what is important to companies and communities – dialogue that more often than not builds a working relationship.

Effective Executive Blogs

It takes a combination of passion, personality, expertise in one’s field, wit and wisdom, writing proficiency to make an executive blog worth reading. An executive blog is not just a summary of company press releases. For a blog to be efficient, avoid having posts that read like a press release. Blogging is more informal and thus easier to bring readers into the conversation. Executive bloggers are advised to get personal while taking into consideration that a certain level of propriety is necessary.

Blogs are perfect for executives in as much as the focal point is on a subject matter that are an expert. An effective blog allows the executive to deal with business concerns and expound on major industry or company issues. For an executive blog to be successful, it should at all times reflect the conviction and voice of the executive, not the PR or legal department. This can be quite difficult as an executive blogger has added responsibilities to watch what he says, keeping in mind securities, disclosure rules. The best executive blog is one written by the executive himself. It is hard to be transparent when another blogger is posting opinions on industry or company trends that he has nothing to do with.

An effective blog uses short but concise and periodic entries rather than long and boring white papers. In fact, some of the outstanding blogs are those that have only one or two sentences with links directing readers to related articles.

A good executive blogger just focuses on two or three vital points. It is then scanned and proofread by a blog-savvy staff member. He also should organize the content of his blog. Arranging the corporate and industry issues he plans to tackle over time is recommended to build cohesiveness. Categorizing entries with relevant keywords can result in higher search engine ranking. New entries should be posted regularly, at least two to three times a week. There is nothing worse than visiting a blog that has not been updated.

Some executives hire the services of public relation firms to draw up blog strategies and at times to help them maintain the technical side of blogging. Others have in-house communications staff to handle logistics for them. Some executives write entries on their BlackBerrys or e-mail them. More importantly, executives claim they write their own blog personally with the slightest or no editing from the public relations or communications department.

Finally, to earn credibility in the blogosphere, an executive blogger should also take comments, favorable or not with a grain of salt. It also means owning up to bad news about the company. As Seth Godin, marketing guru and best-selling author emphasizes, an executive blog works best when it is based on candor, urgency, timeliness, pithiness, controversy and utility,

With the deluge of readers visiting blogs, expect more top management executives blogging to increase business.

To know about an amazing new male breast reduction product, visit: gynexin reviews.

An increasing number of business entities are actively using blogs as part of their marketing strategy. Why? Blogging is providing them the ability to connect with their audience thus encouraging goodwill which in turn helps bring sales.

Marketing through Blogging

It is nothing you have not heard for quite some time now. Blogging has caused quite a stir. It has, in fact, continued to proliferate rapidly. In early days, a blog is just a personal online diary. It is a place to publish one’s thoughts, to collect and share things that one finds interesting. It is a venue to express one’s rants, raves and musings. Today, professional and amateur journalists, political pundits, business honchos, entertainers, everybody seems to be blogging. Blogs are now being used to promote a business, run a political campaign, elicit publicity, among others.

A blog or weblog is an online diary of events arranged in reverse chronological order. The author of a blog is known as a blogger and writing or maintaining a blog is referred to as blogging. An individual entry or article is called a post and is available in the form of a blog page for the public to read. A blog may have a commentary box for readers to leave comments or opinions. These comments act as stimulus for further conversations. A business or corporate blog is simply a blog about a specific business. It is an effective medium for communicating with current and potential customers to share knowledge and expertise and foster relationships.

A company that employs a well-planned blogging strategy can spur significant market gains and sales earnings. Marketing is not just promoting a product or service. More importantly, it is about understanding the needs and wants of customers and developing products or services that satisfy these needs and wants effectively.

A blog enables a company to reach out to current and potential customers, in a more personal way. A blog builds connection and links between the company and its key audience which helps the company use this network over time to improve overall business. A business blog especially if regularly updated can inform readers about a company product or service, information, industry news, tips, tutorials or company developments. Links to industry-related stories can also be found in a blog. The way the targeted audience responds to these information or content is important to any company.

A blog is a good venue for customers to air issues, concerns and give comments. Through a blog, customers can give their own inputs. A company can hear directly from customers and understand what they desire to get from a product or service. Sometimes, the most well-intentioned product under perform because of lack of customer feedback. With blogging, a company can ask for feedbacks, albeit not the whole world, but at least the blogging community. Once a company has insights into what a large community thinks of the product or service, the company can then further improve the product or service to meet customer requirements. After all, customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.

A company who listens and responds to customer feedbacks conveys the message that there is somebody who listens behind an otherwise faceless company. Because a blog is conversational, it gives the company a human voice.

This assures customers that there is a “real” person who will take care of their needs. Customers will feel an affinity with the company. Regular visits brought about by regular updates thru fresh blog entries will familiarize the customers with the company and make them feel that they personally know the company. In due time, trust and loyalty is built and relationships fostered. As we all know people generally buy products or avail the services of people they know and trust. Rest assure that return visits to the blog, maybe for more information will transpire even after a purchase has been made. As they say, customer loyalty is the end-all-be-all of marketing.

A company that utilizes customer ideas, feedbacks, and opinions can further satisfy customer needs and wants and thus facilitates goodwill in the blogging community. It is standard practice in blogging to provide a link to a thought originator which is important because backlinks are a method for search engines to rank a blog. Search engine ranking is very important. Google and Yahoo are two of the most popular search engines.

A blog is typically written daily thus the blog post is new. The search engines index the new post more often than the regular website. The result is a high rank compared to a website. If a company has a product to promote and publishes blog posts about the product regularly, chances are one of the blog posts will be found by readers who may be looking for information about the product. Hopefully, after reading the blog post, the potential customer will visit the company website and make a purchase online or buy the product in a “brick and mortar” store. Marketers acknowledge that potential customers can be customers once they find the information they want about a product from the company’s blog.

Another feature of a blog why search engines love it is a blog’s high number of incoming links. Bloggers link to other blogs, articles and websites. The reading audience is exposed to a plethora of information. Bloggers, thus, create and retain a loyal following of readers. PageRanks for blogs are usually very strong too. As you and I know, high search engine ranking translates to high traffic and more sales leads.

Generating Sales from Blogging

A blog helps to show a company’s value, its online brand on the web. Once a company has built a strong brand, sales will just follow.

Publishing a blog will not automatically generate higher sales. However, it is an efficient way to communicate with customers and prospects. A blog in itself is an excellent tool to support a business, provide value, build relationships and establish brand and image. The ultimate purpose of a blog is to brand, to communicate and to connect. Increased sales should only be viewed as a positive indirect effect of a successful blog.
